AHT Australia Day Two – Ready to Launch

We started today piled up in one apartment to watch Megan, Meredith and Donna ride their motorcycles on to Kerri Anne Kennerly’s morning television program on Channel 9.  The girls did a great job riding over the polished floors without dropping the bikes and parking like pros all in a line!  The interview went well and got the Amazon Heart message out loud and clear.

Then we jumped on the bikes and headed off in brilliant sunshine for our second practice ride down to Botany Bay National Park.  Paul Bailey from Harley-Davidson turned up along with photographer Steve to take some riding shots along the way.

Our day of practice the day before showed with the girls riding flawlessly down the city streets and highways to Botany Bay National Park.  Whales had been sighted off the coast yesterday but the seas were calm and quiet today.  Paul showed it is possible to ride a Harley-Davidson off road, taking the bike behind the barriers and on to the cliff for a fantastic group shot!

While we were there we did several radio interviews, including with John Laws, and then it was back on the bikes to Coogee.

For our last night before the start of the adventure we had a special evening out at Frasers Harley-Davidson Homebush.  The dealer had put on a special “Girlie Garage” night to promote women in motorcycling, with our group the star attraction.

Eight of the girls rode their bikes over to Homebush with the rest in the support van so they could enjoy the champagne and cocktails on offer!  All of the guests were moved by our slideshow presentation and the stories of the women in our group and we hope some are inspired to take up riding!

Then it was back to the hotel for a good night’s sleep before the start of our big adventure.

An especial 'congratulations' to Liz, from her Amazon sisters in the UK who are soooo jealous :o)

    Hey ladies and Pancake!
Wish I was there with you all. Hope you all are having a great time. It is sooo cold now in Chicago. We had snow yesterday! Ride safe and take care of Squirt. She, along with M & M having been going non-stop.
Remember-It's hard to be kissing the lips at night that have been chewing your ass out all day long! ;~)

    Hugs,
    Chick
