Well here we are in cloudy Brissy. I think the Brisbane girls forgot to put in an order for sunshine.

I’m happy to say the sun was shining in Sydney when we left. I’m having an absolute ball. The girls are just amazing. Starting with one of the best evenings I’ve had with an Amazon Heart group at the Taree Aquatic Centre. We have a couple of dark horses in the group who blew us away with Sharon singing with the guitarist “Pretty Woman” and Jo who danced with him too. It was a fantastic night of dancing and the guitarist looked after us with all our requests. He reckoned we were the best thing that ever happened to the Taree Aquatic Club.

Riding on Sunday from Taree to Coffs via Casino we hit rain all day but our newbies handled it real well and kept up real good. My group is Donnie, Chris, Jo and Michelle and Michelle is being an awesome sweep. They are doing great now as a group with me as task master. Last night we enjoyed a wine and dinner at the Beach Hotel. Byron Bay was great to just relax.

Today (Tuesday) was a lot of freeway riding and lots of trucks to get around which can be a bit ordinary but we are in Redcliffe now after a big day and M & M have a surprise for us tonight. Tell you later.

Love,

Sydney Donna

They say life is full of challenges so yesterday brought another one with rain all day. Sadly we were riding through some of the most glorious country from Coffs to Casino then Balina on the Summerland Way – what joy!! I hadn’t thought about the solitude of bike riding with time to think of friends and family. The girls are all so different and wondrous. How can it end? We even visited Bellingen and saw my sister – what delight. Thank you to all for enjoying and sharing this special journey with me. Thanks to M & M.

Donnie

Here we are back in Queensland! And I am amazed at how emotional I felt traveling the exact same route that I traveled doing my radiation treatment – only this time I was doing it on a Harley!

To be continued…

Michelle

A message from Chris to Robyn. Please get to Juris and let her know that we are riding in her honor. We have her name on the van along with other sisters we are riding for.

Chris

Today was a truly wonderful day. I was visited by most of my family. My mother, sister and nephew were at Morgan & Wacker Southport to great me for our lunch stop, then my partner and family were at our hotel tonight to see us all arrive.

I have had such a wonderful time comparing stories with my Amazon sisters that I have not had time to write on the blog. But I have received updated comments from M & M. Mum and Anne thanks for your feedback, to the US riders I miss you all but I have just expanded my AH family by another 13 women.

Byron Bay Surf Club offered me a quote I’d like to share with you all:

It matters not what lies ahead.

It matters not what lies behind.

It matters only what lies within.

Stay safe, keep the sunny side up and the rubber side down!

Today was very special, for one my family came to see me at Morgan & Wacker Gold Coast and this whole journey has been the best thing that has ever happened to me besides my partner Irene. Meredith and Megan you are two very special people to make this happen for all us women, words cannot describe how I feel. This will be one thing in my life I will never forget.

Today’s riding through Surfers – I’ve never been anywhere like that in my life and it was like riding through Hollywood even though I’ve never been there either.

I fee like I’ve known these girls forever and I love you all.

Love,

Sharon and Black Betty

Riding “bitch” was way cool but not quite the same as riding your own bike, sorry Meredith. My new bike is ‘sunshine’ yellow – hopefully a good omen. Only 3 days to go and no one wants this truly amazing adventure to end. Thank you M & M for granting us this once in a lifetime opportunity. (Hopefully more than once someday soon). We have been enjoying each others company and having so much fun that we haven’t had time to write in the blog but I guess we should share with everyone else. I feel like I am repeating other’s words but these girls are now my special AH sisters and we are one amazing sight on our bikes from the back of the pack.

I was very relieved to get past Southern Brisbane where I live. I am not ready for this journey to end yet. I felt totally “at one” today with my sweet ride – “The White Pearl” – I do not want to give it back on Friday!!! I need to win Lotto by weeks end – off to buy a ticket!

Lizzie xx

And when you win Lotto Lizzie please buy us all a Harley too!

Syd Donna

Cheers from down under. I never thought I would say that (LOL)!

I am the only American (Yankie) on this trip. Sorry Megan you do not count! They say you are an Aussie! My new Amazon friends are taking great care of me! For example:

Not losing me

Keeping me on the correct side of the road

Giving me a towel

Making sure I do not get run over by cars!

Giving me awful tasting medicine : )

Translating Aussie tongue, which is quite often

I am so thankful for having this opportunity to go on this adventure. There are many first times for me. Like:

Travelling to a strange country and not knowing anyone

Leaving the USA

Riding a Harley

Asking for donations

No being able to use my cell phone

Using Monkey Butt powder – HEE HEE!

Who would have thought that anything positive could come from having breast cancer! NOT ME! But here I am in Australia with 16 beautiful women riding a Harley cross country rain or shine.

This American with the help of my new and old friends and family will survive!

Hugs

Gail

Today has been an absolutely fantastic day. Bob my bike and me bonded today after finally got the baby ape handles lowered late yesterday. It was a cool day today with the sun shining (one of the Brissy girls must have finally put the order for sunshine in.) I was in my element today climbing Mt. Mee and Blackall ranges through Melany and Montville with the views out to the Sunshine Coast. Twisties are for me. I thought a lot of my hubby Dave and boys Dylan and Liam today, it was perfect, full of love for them and this wonderful ride today. I just love my little family they are full of support for all my adventures. You rock guys. Dave we are coming back to ride these roads again.

The girls are just awesome and having sooo much fun with my new friends.

Love Sydney Donna

Hey Ladies! I am sitting in my office in Boston, wishing I was in Australia, so I could at least catch some of your media play. I am so proud of all of you even though I don't know most of you...I had a blast this summer sharing a teepee with Sydney Donna, and singing by the campfire with everyone on the montana trip. All the best for your last few days. Sending wishes for safe travels, good health, great weather, and awesome memories for your last few days. much love, diamond willow
