Day Two - Participant Comments
22 August 2007
Well, here we go again. The official start of the UK Amazon Heart Thunder ride is in its final countdown stages and I've just met another incredible
21 women on the start of an unbelievable journey. Already there is a sense of camaraderie and friendship, with a common goal, discover new and exciting things about themselves to experience new ideas and to enjoy themselves thoroughly. Life is a journey and not a destination, this is the beginning of a unique journey.
Dee, Amazon Heart Rider 2005, 2006, 2007 U.K.
On the way up our trusty van drivers stopped for a coffee, and then couldn't find their van. "They all look the same." They swore it had not been and Irish Coffee.
"What 'no entry' sign? Don't worry about that, we don't have time to go another way." Ange's confident navigation got Lorraine round the campus in double quick time, as the pressure of getting to the Sheep Heid was stronger than keeping it legal.

My maiden voyage on "Bob the Bike" was awesome. Roll on Friday. Let the freedom flow. Go girls.

What a day - my daughter got into college and somebody gave me a night rod to play with for 9 days. Can life get any better?
Jane (Posh)
Glorious sunshine, powerful 1600, and a cavalcade of 20 bikes riding around Arthur's Seat was the coolest experience. Good job seeing as my Sreet Bob felt as it was on fire beneath me.
Ange
Brilliant sunshine to start the day. Phone call from my niece she achieved fantastic results in her GCSE's. Just disappointed not riding a bike. Very emotional watching riders take off.
Mary
What a day - I've picked up the Blue Booby (AKA my Night Rod - which is never ever being given back). Weather has been perfect and I've got to ride out with a great bunch of women. This is only the beginning - it can only get better!
Sal
I was afraid I might get lost and separate the girls from their luggage.
Jose
I am so proud of myself. In my usual, take charge, put everyone-at-ease way, I managed to make every rider feel good about themselves by purposely dumping my bike in the parking lot. I know a lot of girls heaved a sigh of relief that the ice had been broken and they were sure to make their own mistakes. Yay Me!
Go Tracy!!!
After finding out what bikes we were riding and shedding our nerves eventually, it was great to finally be on the road with everyone. We are all getting to know each other and having a great time doing so. Hi Lawrence and kids, wishing you were all here. Miss you heaps. Hi Marty and all my DRAGON friends.
Leanne
Hello to all you courageous women, I hope you all have the time of your life! A special hello to my Paddling partner Leanne, and of course Megan & Meredith. I sent a greeting earlier but, have no idea where Its ended up? The photos look amazing, perfect weather, great bikes, and a group of awesome women, what more could you ask for? Leanne all is well, Lawrence has been behaving himself, so I haven't need to give him a bashing yet! A BIG HELLO from all the Dragons xoxoxo take care. ENJOY the ride.
Love
