It's only a few hours into us all arriving at the Claremont Hotel, but I feel compelled to write something, probably due to the fact that this group diary was handed to me and I'm feeling very humbled by the warmth of spirit, stories and feeling of love and support already generated by the ladies. So guys, here's a little thank you for letting me involved in this very special sisterhood.

Quote of the morning by Don (Brisbane): "Brisbane could learn from Melbourne!" (We have McD's on both sides of the Hwy! in Melb). We won't comment on the traffic.

Today we finally left Melbourne. It was fantastic when we all met on Tuesday night. Suddenly all those faces I have been getting to know on the website, came to life and I instantly had 16 new friends.
Yesterday we rode over the Westgate Bridge and that pushed me right out of my comfort zone. The wind sock on top of the bridge was diagonal, so I held on tight, put head down and followed my lead - Marie. The worst part was, we had to do it again on the way back to our hotel. I likened that to having chemo. After the first one, you don't want to go back - but you know you have to - so, you just do it. And guess what, I did do the bridge, twice more and survived.
Today we did the first part of the Great Ocean Road. It was a fantastic feeling riding those curves between Geelong and Lorne on my Harley-Davidson Fatboy. I can hardly believe I'm doing it, but I'm so glad I came on this wonderful journey.

Can't quite believe I am blessed enough to be on an AHT ride again. It is different the second time around - partly because I know a little of the wonders which will take place over the next week - that special bond which we will form, the unexpected moments of discovering special things about new sisters. The generosity of spirit and the caring which survivors are so good at! Thank you to each and every rider - and we are all riders whether you are on two wheels or four! Special thanks to M&M. You two are awesome.

Hiya Lizzie, sorry some bad news, The Commissioner has got wind of your little freedom ride and is NOT happy. He wants to know how it's come about that one of his workers is out riding not only a motorbike but a Harley Davidson around the countryside helping and inspiring, not typical government worker behaviour. He also is asking how it is that you're out of the office without your monkey suit on. I told him this one's not like the others, she can't be trained - she won't be trained. His response I'm sorry to say was that your shock treatments be upped to 2 a day on your return. I'll do what I can for you Lizzie but it won't be easy, it looks like you're having too much of a good time.
Have a great time while you can.
Lynne

Hi all,
This is an update for Donna on the Vipers softball game on Saturday. We were four runs down, bottom of the third innings. Loaded bases and Kate steps up to bat and I calmly said, a home run would be good Kate. With that, on her first pitched ball, smackes the ball over the out fielders heads for a grad slam. 4 home on the last hit of the game. We drew 20 all and Vipers were one player down. Not a bad effort. Sounds like you ladies are having a great time. Cheers Tara ( Vipers Softball Team)

Hey Girls, Sydney Donnas Hubby here.
You know somthing, I have decided to write somthing your guys might be interested in.....
I have watched Donna move from the nightmare of the first "you have cancer" to the place she is in now.
As a man beining forced to watch his wife being attacked! with no opportunity to defend her was bad man! real bad.
Since she became aware of Merethith and Meagans group (Chics with attitude)she has grown wings, that easily far exceeds what a normal healthy woman could ever dream or imagine being.Donna tested my support on a few occasions and to be honest i wondered about this "group" she had decided to join, but as you guys know "your woman" is different from the others right?
Some guys give up early and jump ship, others "persavere" and then there is us other guys... who see the intruder enter our live and understand our real way of fighting back is to do nothing other than, realise there is nothing we can physically do, nothing we can attack, nothing we can defend...and thats the real test for us hey.
TO all the men out there reading and or supporting your woman, there is a way to win...... listen without talking... understand they dont need answers from you... stand by her no matter what she says or does.... allow her to be free.... let her go...be there when she comes back... one day it will come back to you in spades....
Dave.... a winner
